Cambodia ICT Camp 2018: Cambodia’s First-Ever Computing Camp

Cambodia’s first-ever computing camp, the five-day Cambodia ICT Camp, will be held in Siem Reap next week. At Open Development Cambodia, we are excited to facilitate knowledge sharing on the important topics of cyber security, open-source software, social innovation and the benefits of open data. The camp will bring together a diverse set of participants from the public, private, and non-governmental sectors to learn how to securely adapt technologies to tackle social and environmental issues. One of the most exciting parts of the camp is the opportunity for participants to receive social innovation funding for their individual projects. Our goal is for participants to take the lessons they learn from this camp and be able to apply them to the problems they face in their communities. We are providing funding for three projects to test technology related approaches to the challenges their business or community faces. You can read more about the camp, including insight from its organizers, in this VoA Cambodia piece by Sok Sopheakpanha.
